My dear cat decided to go and get a lump on its back, and its the same cat that got a paralysis tick on its throat that cost us $2000.00 at the weekend vet's.

Something you must know about me is that, Im a bit of a cat lady, I always have been, always will be.  I love dogs too, but I love cats more !

So when that same cat got a cyst looking lump on its back, I freaked out.  Im like, how can I not have to go to the Vet's with this beautiful designer cat of mine. He is a brother to our cat & they are half burmese half domestic ! No freakin' joke, they are treated like animal kings in this house !

So the research began.  I have this cute little book I bought about using essential oils with Animals, and animals are tricky because they are so small compared to a human, and so much more sensitive than us too... our skin is pretty thick compared to most animals, and for some animals there are no no's like cat's, some essential oils to avoid big time are the citrus family, oregano and thyme.  Never put oils near a cats face or whiskers AND Dilute, Dilute, Dilute.

So I thought I'd give a blend from the things Ive read out of the book, that I thought might be a good starting place, and put a few drops on the cyst & see if it would shrink it.

There has definitely been a reduction, however it did open the cyst, and I am still applying the blend of hemp oil, helichrysum and lavender essential oils to his cyst, and when I do this, he licks it off, but what Ive noticed is that his fur coat is much much thicker.

I put 1 drop of helichrysum, 3 drops of lavender and approx. 2 teaspoons of hemp oil, and I pour it on, twice a week.

So far its looking great, but if it doesn't heal up soon, I will have to take the little love to the vet to get it cut out & sewn up.  Although before I do, I think Im going to try another oil, called Cistus, Cistus is believed to be the biblical rose of Sharon, and its honey-like fragrance is soothing and uplifting.  For my cat Ill be diluting first.

If you have any questions for how to use essential oils with your pet, please send me an email, and I will reply as best I can.  Also, on Thursday the 2nd of November, before Melbourne Cup day the 7th of November, where many people bet on horses racing, I am focussing on how to best be of service to our dear animal friends that we love so much, and I am running an Essential Oils Class for Pets, it comes at a small cost of $10 which will give you some beautiful information, recipes & a take home product for your pet.

If you would like to know more about that class, pop over to my Facebook page & go to the menu and click on events, and RSVP if you can make it.

If you want to get some oils now, head over to my shop page, and follow the prompts.  If you need help with anything, please send me a Facebook message or send me an email with your best contact details, and we can go through it together on the phone or one of the video screen sharing apps we now have available like Skype or zoom.
